Used to provide nutritional support for capillary fragility and bruising. Rutin and vitamin C together support collagen synthesis and vascular integrity. May be indicated as adjunctive treatment in conditions involving minor vascular fragility.
Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to rutin, bioflavonoids, or citrus components. Avoid use in patients with a history of oxalate kidney stones as high-dose vitamin C may increase oxalate excretion.
Generally well tolerated. May occasionally cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea. Allergic reactions including skin rash are rare.
Keep out of reach of children. Patients taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs should consult a physician before use as rutin may have additive effects. High-dose vitamin C supplementation should be avoided in patients prone to kidney stones.
Rutin is a bioflavonoid that inhibits platelet aggregation and decreases capillary permeability and fragility. Vitamin C is essential for collagen biosynthesis and acts as a free radical scavenger. Together they enhance vascular wall stability and support connective tissue repair.
