Uses
Systemic corticosteroid used for inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune, and certain oncologic conditions requiring glucocorticoid therapy.
Do not use if
Systemic fungal infections or hypersensitivity to dexamethasone or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause hyperglycemia, hypertension, fluid retention, mood changes, infection risk, and gastrointestinal symptoms.
Warnings
Long-term use may cause adrenal suppression and increased infection risk. Gradual withdrawal may be necessary.
